Level 3 First Response Emergency Care – FREC 3
Our team of trainers are not just professional teachers, the majority are members of the Ambulance Service and other emergency services. They deliver factual training based on current guidelines and most importantly experience. This ensures you are being taught by a professional that has actually done, in real terms, what they are teaching you. They will create scenarios which put you in the moment, using your senses to build memories to help cement the learning in your mind.
The course is assessed by 17 practical assessments, and 3 multiple choice question papers covering the following units:
UNIT 1 - First Response Emergency Care
UNIT 2 - First Response Emergency Care of Trauma
UNIT 3 - First Response Emergency Care of Medical Conditions
This five day course can be delivered at your workplace for a group of staff or individuals can join courses at our Simulation Centre. The qualification is valid for three years and is updated by attending a condensed three day Requalification course prior to its expiry date, or succeeded by completing the further levels.
Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of training.
Level 4 FREC – Emergency Care Assistant. Ideal for those in a supporting A&E dept/transfer role and those undertaking event work.
Access to this course is via FREC Level 3, or other possible equivalent qualifications as stated by the Awarding Body, Qualsafe.
The course is just 5 days in duration with subsequent workbooks to complete post course.
Learners must be at least 18 years old on the first day of training.
Level 5 Diploma in FREC – Ambulance Technician. Ideal for a supporting or autonomous care role in an A & E dept/transfer or event setting. Access is via FREC 4.
The course is 4 non-consecutive weeks in duration and culminates with a portfolio submission and 750 clinical hours to be completed.
Entrants can use event, transfer, minor injury, GP placements as well as A & E hours to comply.
